State Golf Tournament wraps up Tuesday

UNDATED – The South Dakota State Golf Tournaments wrapped up Tuesday, and in the State A Girls, Rylan Horning of St Thomas More brought home the championship.

Horning finished with a 156 to win the title. Canton’s Olivia Sorlie took second and Katie Betsworth of Dakota Valley was third. Sioux Falls Christian won the team title with a low score of 687. Vermillion was second and St Thomas More came in third.

In the Class AA Girls Tournament, Mitchell won the team title with a low score of 616. Aberdeen Central was second, three strokes back, and Rapid City Stevens placed third.

Winning the individual title was Brynn Huber of Huron who won via a playoff against Allison Meyerink of Mitchell. Lauren Knapp of Stevens finished in a two way tie for fifth and her teammate Tanna Phares was seventh. Lily Heisinger, the lone Sturgis Scooper in the tourney, finished in 38th with a 174.

In Class B girls, Chester Area edged out Bison for the team title while Alison Kahler of Bison captured the individual title with a low score of 151. Brynn Roehrich of Clark/Willow Lake finished in second.

And, in Class B Boys, Gregory captured the team title with Hanson in second and Sully Buttes was third. Winning the individual title was Eli Fogel of Gregory with a two day score of 151. Finishing in second, one stroke back, was Wyatt Larson of McIntosh.
