STURGIS, S.D. —The Sturgis Municipal Airport hosted a Wings ‘N Wheels event over the weekend, highlighting classic cars and airplanes.
Organized by the city of Sturgis and Sturgis Airport, the event provided people with a fun way to get out during the summer.
City of Sturgis Director Planning, Dave Smith, says this was the first ever car show and fly in, and they were pleased with this weekend’s attendance.
Officials estimate roughly 300 to 500 people came out to check out the fun.
A barbecue was also held, and a free will donation was offered to help the airport raise funds for some much needed interior remodeling.
