SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Sturgis Scooper Softball team won their season opening game Thursday by beating Spearfish 13-6.
Pitcher Abigail Tweedy was dominant on the mound, striking out 19 batters in her first start for the Scoopers.
Offensively, Avreigh Long had a home run for the Scoopers. Long went 1-4 with two runs ad two R.B.I.’s.
The Scoopers next game is Tuesday, April 2 at Parkview in a double-header vs Pierre and Rapid City Central.
