PIERRE, S.D. – COVID-19 – related hospitalizations continue to increase in South Dakota as state health officials reported 95 people receiving care in their Tuesday report.
Hospitalizations have been on an upward trend since March 22nd.
New cases today totaled 165, with 47 of them listed as probable.
The majority of the new cases are coming from East River. Across the Black Hills area, there were just 2 new cases. The new cases were out of Lawrence and Custer counties. For the first time since March 8, Pennington County had no new cases reported.
Active cases dropped slightly Tuesday to 2,436 and two new deaths were reported. The new deaths raise the state’s death toll to 1,935.
