SPEARFISH, S.D. – The highway patrol and Spearfish Police are investigating a two vehicle accident that sent three people to the hospital Wednesday afternoon.
The patrol says the accident happened just before 2:30 at the intersection of Highway 85 and East Colorado Boulevard.
A 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup being driven by 64-year-old Raymond Millard of Lead was traveling south on Highway 85 when he collided with a 205 Chevrolet Impala being driven by a 19-year-old female. The female was attempting to turn left from Colorado Boulevard onto Highway 85 when the accident occurred. The woman received life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Spearfish Hospital. A 23-year-old male passenger in the car received serious, but non life-threatening injuries and was also transported to the hospital.
Neither the woman nor her passenger were identified.
Millard was also taken to the hospital by a trooper for medical attention.
The highway patrol is investigating the crash.
