WHITEWOOD, S.D. – A Whitewood man has pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated assault.
Dustin Lee Johnson, 38, is accused of pulling a gun on a female victim in November of 2023 following an argument.
Johnson was indicted by a Lawrence County Grand Jury in December and charged with three counts of aggravated assault, each for a different victim and each a Class 3 felony that carries up to 15 years in prison.
The incident involved the female and two children. He was arrested after the incident because police determined Johnson placed the victims in fear of imminent serious bodily injury.
Johnson returns to court for a hearing on March 12.
