BUFFALO, S.D. – Fire crews from a wide area battled a wildfire in Harding County over the weekend.
The fire was located southeast of Buffalo and as of Sunday, had burned approximately 1,990 acres or 15.5 miles.
The fire burned land on multiple private ranch units, and terrain – including multiple creek crossings – which was making it difficult for fire crews to work around.
In a Facebook post Sunday, Harding County officials say crews were performing mop up duties.
No injuries and no structures were lost.
Buffalo, Reva, Ludlow, Harding, Redig, Bowman N.D., Castlerock, Bison, Prairie City, Crook County, Lemmon, and Belle Fourche units were all helping area ranchers and landowners to battle the fire.
