WINNER, S.D. — The South Dakota Highway Patrol says a 28-year-old female died Saturday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash east of Winner.
The name of the person involved is not yet being released pending notification of family members.
Preliminary information indicates that a 2012 Ford Edge was eastbound on U.S. Highway 18 when it went off the roadway, into the north ditch and hit a tree. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation.
