MIDLAND, S.D. – One person died Friday in a single motorcycle crash 23 miles north-west of Midland, S.D.
The name of the person has not been released pending notification of family members.
Preliminary crash information indicates a 2005 Harley Davidson FLHRCI was traveling west on SD 34 near mile marker 163. The 64-year-old male driver lost control of the motorcycle, entered the south ditch, and became separated from the motorcycle.
The driver was taken by ambulance to the Pierre Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver was not wearing a helmet.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
The accident is the fourth motorcycle fatality this week.
